Being mean.

Have u ever felt supremely bitchy in your life? Like when u're doing projects with your groupmates and they happen to be particularly slow one day and u start thinking "WTF is he/she thick or just plain stupid"; or when swear words swarm your head when u're rushing somewhere and some idiot is blocking the way; or when someone nearby is grinning like a fool because he/she is happy but because u're not u start thinking " WTH can he stop f***ing grinning like a nutcase, or u're gonna smash his teeth in"; and basically getting extremely cranky and fed up with the whole world?

I realise more often than not at least for these two weeks, the evil ty has been emerging alot; the redhot, sexy, proud but still supremely evil little devil Ty on the left, shooting down the pristinely white Ty angel on my right shoulder with a canon... so many times I've caught myself this week, shooting evil thoughts about the people around me.. I really really should curb these mean thoughts.. i mean, The thoughts maketh the person, right??

And the thing is, it is addictive, this evil-eye/mental arrows thing. It's like nicotine, at first it's not too bad but then it hooks onto the soul and then starts turning everything into ash. The evil thoughts just come automatically at every little thing now and soon i start finding I have to fight to see the bright side and to think the best of others.. Urgh. I'm just turning into a mean bean.
I'm getting disgusted with myself and that glass ball i'm trying to balance on a seesaw is gonna roll down one side and smash into smithereens very soon if i keep this up.

Maybe it's just these two days. Maybe it's just the lack of sleep and water and good food and mostly, home. Sometimes i feel like hibernating for a while at home. but then i'll find more reasons to complain. sheesh. dunno what i want. Maybe its just cos i'm not getting any replies from anything that's gonna get me overseas. And maybe it's the lack of solid plans that i've been groping for and trying to piece tog for the past months.

Maybe it's just me. I hope my Angel will be done with her holidays soon.

Killer week!

I'm finally allowing myself to blog..whews.

Just now I was sitting morosely at the HSS benches, watching the rain form tiny ripples in the puddles and eating my yogurt ice cream cos i was stuck without my umbrella. I'd just majorly embarrassed myself during presentation...yaaaaaaaaaaghhh. freakin' "BIMBO" etched on my forehead man. The million and one ways i could have resaid things are still flashing in my head.

I called sis, who was happily in fareast with the bf, and started ranting.. super killer weekend lar. Was so glad she just listened (despite the "huh, ya so bimbo man", like thanks for agreeing.-_-) ; at least i didn't have to end school alone today. Anyway then the rain stopped and i walked back to hall, and i thought, man, next sem she's like going to Texas and all, and it's gonna be so so bleak man. I really don't know how i'm gonna cope w sch alone. Plus the fact I'd keep wishing I was there too and the past 5years of desire to study overseas would be extremely overwhelming.. sighs. I SO hope the boredom of being in mundane ole spore won't kill me. I have a strong feeling it will.

Anyway, on a lighter note, Chanks is inviting us to his party this saturday! I think our class will turn up in the end, at least for novelty's sake. Life has been too boring. Not bad. I think he actually invited us after seeing the happening pictures on our facebooks from the past 4bdays, and probably felt leftout. haha! But actually he's been pretty haps also himself la. So many pictures with celebrities in so many haps events.

This friday i'm supp to go on a date with Tiff, whom I've not caught up with a long time..but then there is the STep Up2 movie at 6bucks from bizad which I wanan go to! but then daryl already says he can't go, and I haven't asked anyone yet, and i really don't wanna go alone. I think i shld ask ard soon. ANyone interested just tell me ok!! I can't watch with Tif cos she wants to watch w Ben, and I don't know if i shld call off the date just cos of this movie. ah. so much to plan for.

Unfortunately, I've been pretty caught up with the 2 reports and 2 presentations due this week. My sleep's been pretty screwed up, and i DON'T like it when my sleep's screwed up, so i've been pretty anti-social and cranky. Not helping that i'm in block comm and i'm supp to be smiley all the time. oh. and that's one more concern. sighs. the term's gonna be over soon and so much is not done. Plus peer review in hall's been out and. I think it's probably accurate.. 0(@_@)0 i duno wad to say. I just hope i take the chances given to perform, and i'd better take it soon.

Still, two's down as of today and I still have two major things to finish..shit. actually there's three. Indiv assignment which was supposedly due today and Bahasa Indo test tomo! Shucks mindy just came back and it's apparently not gonna be as easy as i thought. TGIO and formal dinner tonight in hall also! i hope i can squeeze in the time to finish and study. Wa hall super happening. don't be misled by the stressed-out me right now. hurhur.

Juno~

You're a part time lover and a full time friend
The monkey on your back is the latest trend
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Here is the church and here is the steeple
We sure are cute for two ugly people
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

We both have shiny happy fits of rage
You want more fans, I want more stage
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

You are always trying to keep it real
Now I'm in love with how you feel
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train
I kiss you all starry eyed, my body's swinging from side to side
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

The pebbles forgive me, the trees forgive me
So why can't, you forgive me?
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Du du du du du du dudu Du du du du du du dudu Du du du du du du dudu du
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you~

the cheese on my macaroni

Caught Juno yesterday with Piongie (it's gonna turn into our weekly indulgence if we keep this up! *grins*); and it was such a beautiful movie! It was about this sixteen year old who got pregnant and made the decision to give her baby away to someone who needed it more; but mostly it was about how innocent yet not innocent we are at that age, and how love can be so uncomplicated and earnest, existing between two very different kids who love each other for being just that.

Ellen Page is just super witty, and the scriptwriter has such a knack for unique descriptions, it made the movie so hilarious ! "I'm a sacred vessel and all u have in you is taco bell" Anyway I learnt alot from the show. Juno's parents were so accepting and open-minded, and so full of love for the family in their little ways, and somehow I'd always wished my dad could be alittle like Juno's dad..

Anyways, i really recommend it! The songs in the show rock too anyway, not the typical kind of songs u'd find; the more hippie kinds, with meanings in the lyrics. I love! gonna get the DVD when it comes out! (:

"I just wanna know if two people could be in love with each other and stay together forever."

"Look, in my opinion the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what-have-you. The right person is still going to think the sun shines out of your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with."

And I hope one day u see it yourself.

Oh no, Lydia Sum just passed away?? Sighs. How sad. She really was one of the more revered artistes in HK, and I really admired her too, cos she did prove that fat women could be successful! To Lydia Sum, who will be missed..

Our Beacon of Light in the Dark Stormy Night

Our Beacon of Light in the Dark Stormy Night

FWOC has always been more than just an orientation. While the freshmen were offered a tantalizing taste of what is to come as they embark on their new journey, the seniors saw it as an unbridled expression of a Kentridgean unleashed. But ask any member of the FWOC team, past and present, and they will tell you an entirely different story.

Most Kentridgeans will shun the idea of joining FWOC. This is understandably so, because the reasons are relatively simple and logical – that no one believes that a team of twelve Kentridgeans can slog it out to put together a two week orientation programme within three months.

Indeed, I had been one of the doubters too. It simply did not make sense to me why would we want to have only twelve people on the committee when we could have easily called for more. Indeed, it is sheer madness when it is true that only Kent Ridge Hall has this strangely sardonic practice when other halls will choose to muster more than half of their active residents to plan their respective freshmen orientation projects.

Yet it is our refusal to conform that makes us special. For us, twelve is the magical number.
No one had expected an easy ride. From the earliest conceptualization of the orientation theme to the eventual, long awaited Day-Zero morning briefing, FWOC 07/08 was never just about a journey of working out t-shirt and focus book designs, looking for sponsorships and endorsements, planning and trying out wet and dirty orientation games, writing and editing a 263 page long proposal and integrating meal timings and logistical preparation into an endless myriad of timetables and plans.

It was about the story of a team that was as raw and inexperienced as any FWOC team could have ever been. When we scrambled and were left befuddled, clueless and lost, we learnt to trust and hold each others’ hands as we walked together not as twelve individuals but as a team. When we shed tears and had original plans tattered and thrown into total disarray, our partners picked us up and convinced us that we had the ability to make things right again. We were stubborn, but only because of our refusal to give up on each other and our hopes for FWOC to be a success.

This is the FWOC experience, one that is unique to every batch that had contributed so much into the singular purpose of making their FWOC a success. For the batch of 07/08, it was a life lesson well learnt, a mission well accomplished, and twelve friendships well forged.

Somewhere out there, someone loves you.

I prayed for a random old man today on tv, and I was reminded of this phrase I read somewhere; No matter what, always remember, somewhere out there, someone loves you. I never really believed it, but today, I felt it-- Somehow, sometime, everyone gets a prayer from someone whether they know it or not; whether they deserve it or not. Haha i guess i was having a mountainwings moment! Was never Christian, but I still pray each night and drop random prayers on random people I feel need a little blessing every now and then. Well I guess it's been a habit since my Catholic teachings in Pri sch.

ANyways, Happy Vday to everyone!! To all the singles out there, love is everywhere! Even if u have no special someone, remember, u're loved. (:

Touch Carnival '08!

Whoo! just got back from our Touch Carnival, and we're Second!! Didnt' really fulfil our dream of beating EH, but i guess we did fairly well by winning the rest of the four games of the day! There were really some super cool moves by our girls.

At e match against TH, it was nil-nil all the way til the last attack, when the alarm for game over was bleating away..then at the right wing, Mabel drew two men down to the left, did an overhead pass to Changxi, and Changx our miracle sprinter, sped up, dived and tried!! That was a real heart-popper, Damn nice. And so we won TH this year, 1-0. (:

ALrights. shall blog abt more next time if I muster energy to. Had pizza lunch and gonna nap nowW! zzzzzz~
