More updates from KD!

So, Life in KD is pretty much mundane now, work is 6 days a week for me, and i'm pretty frustrated that I am missing all the employee trips this week to VCC, Walmart (sighs fresh groceries!), and most of all, Virginia BEach today!! :(( I was really really super upset kay.

Anyway. I enjoy going to work in the end cos I've really made good friends with my American colleagues, telling them alot abt Spore and also listening to them tell me things about themselves.

There's this white guy, Matt, who looks abit like leonardo dicaprio, who's pretty close with me, and on e first day, we had super lots of fun making fun of this other black guy, Darrel, calling him black and joking around being racist...that's how I got to know Darrel, and he's super funny and blackish and he's always making me laugh with his funny laughter and "i know u like me man" jokes..I think I make friends much faster with guys. Must be cos I'm so boyish. DUnno gd or bad. :S

Oh there's also Britany, this small-sized girl who's a manager or smth, and she's quite close to me too. They pretty much think I'm cooler than the rest of the Asians they see so far, cos I can speak American and I get their jokes pretty fast, like e dirty ones; just like i do back home. haha. I'm also pretty happy that i rose in levels pretty fast! Like from role to role, which supposedly takes some time I think. I'm already spieling thru the speakers to the audience! Spieling, btw means to speak really fast to interact w e guests.. :)

Today, I made a new friend in a black guy called Rashad, who's also from Virginia, and he was like, if i wanted to, we could come back to the park and play together or go clubbing if i don't mind him taking me to where he hangs out. YAY I was waiting to make American friends who could take me out to play! Sighs but really, I just know him for a day..I really dunno who I can trust so it really is a risk I mightn't take up. ANyway sadly he's from another section of the park so i prolly won't ever see him again lah. Unless I added the right guy on facebook. I hope i did!

Day three of labor

Man. Exhausted. I just got back at 11pm from work...12 straight hours! And my dinner now is like cereal, milk and banana..too tired to cook!! Work's boring now that the park's open man. We really stand 12hrs straight noe!! Lei dao bao!! :(

I'm in two rides, Anaconda and Backlot stunt, which are level 5 rides; the most thrilling level! The ride's cool, but boring to man. Made good friend w the colleagues and supervisors, who were really friendly, and younger than me! One looks like leornardo dicaprio, but chubbier. Talked abt hot girls and hot guys and what kind we both like.. haha he damn gd! Let me slack w him for like one hour...in the aircon box they use to control e rollercoaster!

But work still sucks. I'm so afraid I'll fall asleep standing halfway thru work. Choichoichoi. It's really fullsteam ahead, 12hrs from 10-10 again tml!! ARghhh sucks! I actually rather earn less money man. lol. ok, no i NEED e money la. Otherwise after work will spend alot. Sighs. Okay so here's the start of a really hard time to come now. :(

Week 1 :)

I have so much to blog!! But I have no idea where to start. OKay. Let's start from the beginning.

Basically, it has barely been ten days here, yet I've grown pretty fond of the people here and life in America. Not good. I'm supposed to nurture a home-sickness so I wouldn't feel like this is an escape from Singapore!

Anyway, I've made really close friends with the Thais here in the dorm, and truly, this is the one time I feel thankful of a module I've studied in NUS!! Basic Thai 1 is really the most useful mod I've ever taken man! The Thai people were all surprised I could speak, and very happy too, cos someone not Thai can speak their language. We made fast friends, and I've of course, made a few favourites, and a few I can laugh the days away with; conversations I will really miss having. Of course, that made me stand out abit with the Singaporeans, who bunch up usually in predictably Singaporean style, but thank goodness the lot of them are pretty amicable too, so it's not too bad..

Sadly, the Thais are leaving in a week or two; I really really will miss them!! They are the most friendly nationality here in the dorm already, readily making friends with everyone with their half-bucket English; even the Singaporeans have slight politics here and there within cliques, something I really don't relish very much.

Dang. I'm supp to start from e top, meanign Day 1 of work. Okay here goes. :)

Day 1 of work was exhausting; today was Day 2, and all I can say of the work I've done here so far is that I'm doing Bangla work for a fee of 7.25USD, emptying huge trash bins on the first day and lining them again today, and also wiping down dozens of sunchairs in the hugeass waterpark with rags. KD is proud of its literally squeaky clean floors and facilities, and I must admit, they do put quite a pinch of passion in their cleaning!

On the first day, Monday, I worked with Goi and Ying, two really friendly thai girls whom I got really really close with, especially Goi. They taught me the ropes around most of the work that day, which, I realised later, usually given to guys. :S

Anyway, it's been unimaginably hot, and chilly sometimes too, when the wind blows. Hardly the best combination. I love it when it rains! Most of the Asians here I know hate the cold though. I seem to be the only one who really love it when it's cold! They all like the sun cos it's e only source of heat, but I really hate it beating down on us especially in the afternoons; this is one of the reasons why I was looking forward to leave spore! I'm really like one of e few who's always in shorts. The rest wear jeans and long stuff to work! Well. Anyways, it means everytime I've got work so far I almost always toast my eyes in the UV rays and end up with stinging cheeks and eyes. My lips too, have gotten it bad, and they're really smiting now too! :(

Oh yes, then on Tuesday, there was this trip down to Walmart and VCC:Virginia Centre Commons, which was really much anticipated because it meant we would all get fresh groceries. People like me n YH barely had any fresh food the entire weekend cos we just arrived on Thursday, and had been surviving on bought stuff or cupnoodles. Ergh.

The places are HUGE btw!! Barely enough time to finish looking through stuff in both places! Hopefully I'll go back again!

Then Wednesday we had the NYC trip, and me n YH travelled the a small part of NYC tog; our little sightseeing adventure! I was so tired halfway I kinda zombied out for a bit, and thank God YH was there or else I'd have collapsed on the street halfway! NYC's awesome! I really really adore the skyscrapers and humongous billboards, the uncountable electronic ads and broadways in Times Sq and Broadway St, the way carved walls and entire, reflective buildings can merge so uniquely in the city that never sleeps. Me n YH had a tiny adventure, insisting on walking instead of transport; we had famous cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery, my fav Bubba Gump, Krispy Kreme, pissed off a Black guy who tried to sell me a bag for 20USbucks, and most exciting of all, got conned into this "15min movie" by one of the pamphlet givers on the Broadway, which we later found out was a cult trying to promote Scientology!!

THank goodness we had the mind to leave halfway. We were brought to this "Museum of Scientology", where we were taken to a dark room with a screen. There was only the two of us, then they started to screen this movie abt a guy who got paralysed hip down and was like introduced to scientology apparently. We were so paranoid- I thought we would get chlorofoamed halfway from behind, I kept looking around in the dark room, and we took pictures so we could get evidence. Couldn't take it after 5 mins and we left. Haha! Damn scary can. dunno wad shit we got ourselves into. But it was an experience lah. bwaha. heng nth happen.

And Last night, Thursday, after we got rest from the 8hr trip back, the Thais had a farewell party in the BBQ area because they were leaving soon. They cooked so much food; like naam tok muu: Waterfall pig in direct translation, tomyam soup, tomyam noodles, fries and burgers even! Took so much care and effort in cooking it! It was really heartwarming, and they invited some of the closer people in the dorm to join in. REally awesome. They totally know how to party man. There was Thai music, and even a balloon stepping game, which ended with a beer-chugging competition btw e winners. Super funny! I hung out alot with Goi and Thong, this super funny guy with a secret. :) will super miss them when they're gone man. Life in the dorm will be so different!

The rest of us, stood in a half-circle laughing and being amazed at how TOMMMY (yes tommy, my KR friends), went from girl to girl, flirting and touching, and basically being a playboy. It was really jawdroppingly, goosebumpily gross. Me n YH tried to save her hot ukrainian roommate from him, and like dragged her away at one point, but he seems to not get it at all, and went to HOLD HER HANDS for the balloon game. So thick! Se dao siao! We were all pretty disgusted.

Ooh my two roomies just came in and we danced to Nobody from wondergirls! haha they are so cute! Cos they all know I can dance and they wanted to learn. I'm so glad they're my roomies!

Kk anyway down to today, Friday, Day 2 of work. Not much, just lining the trashbins, and I made good friends with this cute Mesadonian, Murat, who's super friendly, and maybe a tad flirty. Yes okay i admit he flirted with me the entire day in the park, but well u don't get such treatment in Spore right. haha! His English isn't so good, so I helped out abit, just like I did with the Thais. I think I've got to know so much more about cultures I barely know about; met people from countries I've barely heard of and would never in my life imagine I'd meet; and learnt so much about getting to know people from other cultures better! It's amazing, and I'm really enjoying this trip!

I realise now I'm much better on my own and that I really love getting to know new things. I hope though, that I don't lose my roots and my patriotism but instead find something about it to be really proud of. :)

New York, the city that never sleeps~

Okay!! HEading to NYC on employee trip in an hour!! haha so excited! But i hope i wont' be too tired to not wanna explore NYC and then get cranky!!

Anw, Me n YH on a trip of our own! Whoopees! HOpe all goes fine and we don't catch Swine flu in the all the epic of it.

So much to blog about about yesterday's first day of work, today's trip down to VCC and Walmart, and now soon-to-be NYC! Dun care, enjoy first! Tata!!

THird Day here at DOswell!! Doing Well!!

Yay!! Currently my roomies and I are super happy because we finally got ventilation in our room! We have been sleeping without airconditioning for the past two nights, and finally, Maintenance has repaired it and we can finally not sleep in stuffiness anymore! Yayness!!

And here's the guy I came with. No comments. I'm just glad I got into the ride I wanted! :)) Or at least it's one of the exciting rides. ahha and he's in kid rides! Gdgdgd. Further the better. :S Heh I stole a pic of him cos i knew I was gg to blog... :S

Here's abit of my room here!!

It's kinda cozy, like hostel, and currently it's just me and my two pretty roomies from Ukraine! They're teaching me some russian/Ukrainian, and we were so hungry on the first day they cooked this ultra tasteless thing called Chernomb. or smth that sounds like this, and it's like some kinda grain which is supp to be eated with dishes like our rice for the CHinese!

And we were so sad cos we haven't done groceries, that we ate it with cheese and canned beans, which is damn sick!! SO tasteless unlike Heinz!! Thats y we really all craving to go to walmart, which is only by a bus which comes once a week, next tues!! :((

Anyway, as i said, I made great friends with this gal who's got so much in common w me! We're both Bao's gd friend! And she dances, and likes theatre, and eats spicy, and sings kbox, and came here all the way by herself too, like me!! How awesome. :D

Second day here at Doswell! All's Well!! :)

I'm down in Virginia now!! Though honestly. It's been pretty boring. It's 530pm already, and it's my second day here, and i've been stuck in my room watching tv and fbing since 2pm! After doing my papers today this morning.. there really isn't much to do around here!

Anyway at least i made some good friends with the sporeans around..Yesyes, there's tommy too. He was the first to greet me when i came! Actually it isn't too bad really. Somehow it was comforting to see a familiar face. Okay! I'm not gg to have anth w him if u're thinking anything. He is still a bit perverse because he really observes the most perverse things. Of girls. haha another story for another day.

The trip here was a mini hell. Because of the guy i came with. Otherwise, it was pretty good! It's quite navigatable travelling alone. I kinda like it! Actually I wished I was REALLY alone. Cos the other guy, was just an enormous liability! Total different wavelength so we can't communicate, his first time travelling so he doesn't know anything, okay dont' blame him for that. But the worst thing is that he has no initiative or any sense of time or anything! Bad enough u don't know anything; at least make the initiative to ask for directions or like how to get to the next place or what to do next right!!! I ended up doing everything myself. Not that I minded, but it was quite frustrating with him tagging along. LIke wth. u're 22 and u're m'sian so u shld've travelled before, then somemore everything kao me do, buay paiseh rely on a girl to do everything!!?

THe worst thing is now he's still hanging ard me cos he know I can talk quite abit and make friends easily..and he is doing rides with me!! SOBS!! I hope we're not doing the same ride. PLSPLSPLSPLSPLS God pls make my life better when work starts! Don't let me see him everyday!!! *prays hard* I hope it's not the karma i'll get because I really thought evil thoughts when I was w him on the 4 flights to USA. COuldn't help it!! ok i won't blog it here cos blogspot has no entrylocks haha.

ANyway. so I'll get to know my rides tml, and I truly hope it's not the same as him!! We went down to HR today to get our papers done, and met this other sporean girl, Yong Hui, who's from TSd in NUS. SO happy to meet another like-minded individual!! We talked quite abit on e way back, w the guy hanging around, and at least shared some plans abt our travels and stuff. I'm so happy she likes theatre and wants to watch the things i wanna watch in NYC too!! which is fab!

Anw, after that the guy msned me and told me if i got plans i must tell him so he can decide if he can come. DECIDE IF HE CAN COME LEH! wth. howhowhow *cries* I cannot shuai him off liao..sighs. I really hope things get better.

Maybe cos its abit boring today thats y i'm ranting. Thank god there's SPONGEBOB!! haha to entertain me now while i'm so bored.. Oh! Yes, i'm staying w two Ukrainians, but we can't really talk very much cos they don't understand English much..only the basics. But we hit off quite well yesterday cos I started telling them about Singapore and well. Universal language is FOOD! haha so got them started on food and we chatted quite abit.

Two of the four of us have pulled out from WAT. I'm not done packing. USA has officially 2000++ H1N1 cases. Washington D.C has kena-ed. I'm going to fly there w the M'sian whom I thought was a PRC. China Airlines might not have any entertainment. GG!!

Firsts, and Lasts..

Sitting in my really dusty room now, with small random stuff strewn over my table.. Half my things are gone now; I've definitely seen my room in a better state.. Sighs. So I'm half-packed and moving out of KR...most people have already started leaving, and the C-D area is clogged with cars right now..

Bengtatt and Christoph both flew today, and we partied Chris's last night away at le Baroque; Experienced firsts again..My first time at Chjimes, for real, and this, I have to note down..my first ***f, which was, something I always wanted to try but never wanted to start.. But then. Apparently the will is weak and the force is strong? haha. hm ok la. Interesting. Don't like it at all though, didn't think I would also.. so it prolly won't ever be a habit I'll pick up. :) Well, at least the guys said I look hot with it. haha!

Anyway, it was a fun night! Company was good, and we danced abit and drank abit, and laughed and photowhored abit, and Chris cried abit, and 4k went crazy for abit, and we ended it with poker back in hall! Which, to my utter disappointment, was my loss for the third time in a row. I was really upset with myself, which has NEVER happened at a poker session before. sighs. Shldn't have turned out that way. I think 70bucks is a bit painful. And I just lost quite a bit of confidence in myself which ruined my whole play I think. :(

There's poker tourney right now, and I'm a bit reluctant, but because AC's playing for the first time in so long, I really wanna be in it! Helps that I found like 60bucks in my drawer while packing. Hehe! sighs. I better buck up my skills and use my brains.

oh still, I'm loving the last few days of this sem.. :))

Major Chillouts!

And so, the weeks around the exam, I took a major chill pill! Basically I have been slacking and hanging around people, and absorbing every ounce of Cblock and loved ones before I fly of next WEd! :(

We had Finale supper at sheares for the cheezy chicken, and a day before that, me and blackie were rushing to finish our gifts for them! We ended at 7am man, no joke! I'm really damn proud of it la! So cute! But really damn leh chey to make! We had tiny dresses cut out for e dolls, that I was personally in charge of, and even had hairbands for them! But we were so out of time we didn't even make any for ourselves.. :(

I'm glad the fyfs liked it! At least something for them to remember our final blast :)

And then there was the bored Saturday before the exam, when I really had to chill, so settled my craving for Brewerkz w Tat..the meal was awesome la, satisfying man! Caught up a bit with Tat too, who's apparently getting tired of singlehood.. lol.

And then the day after some of my babes finished one of their many papers, we took off to Vivo for some good food and Wolverine!! It is awesome! I love X-men, and Wolverine was always my fave character! Woots, Gambit had some screen time too! Chilled out at Kim Gary, and was so happily tucking in, we almost forgot our movie and had to cancel our deserts cos we were late! haha but I love times like this, and it's so sad cos Huili n Mindy will both not be around next sem! :(

And then yesterday, it was a Date w Daryl, haha, at Timbre! Long-needed catch up session! It's been so long since I've met any of the 41-ers, and even longer since I caught up w Daryl indiv.. thought we used to be much closer, and I'm glad nothing has changed, after the chillout session w him last night.. :))

The next best thing was, Surath was singing! I just HAD to go to the ARts house timbre. WoooootS! Surath rocks big time. It was so comfortable, listening to him crooning my favourites, with such awesome company.

Oh, then the night got better because guess who walked in! Baby and Lester! It was so funny, cos they dedicated "When u love someone" to me, and Surath read their note: Hope u find a Boyfriend soon.. Like. *Hinthint* from Lester..and then I dedicated "Straight from the heart" back to them..partially cos I wanted to hear Surath sing that lah. haha. Anyway it was such a happy night! First time I get a song dedicated to me and I get to hear all my favs from Surath too!

And then I went back with them, and we hung out at Fullerton because Lester wanted to take a crap in its high class toilets, haha! And then went to Glutton's bay abit for some drinks, and then, it was back home to C Block for Poker!!! :))) haha best way to end the night.

I lost 30 tho. haha. but company was great, and we played til morn after our Mac bfasts, and so, I've slept from 7am til 12pm now, and will be heading off to town w sis and then for Kbox with the Cblockers tonight...something I have to accomplish before Lester and the rest grads, and then there's also chillout at Chjimes tml w them too! yay so happy for the influx of Cblock outings! And then there's more ppl to catch up with before Wednesday..so much to do suddenly, and so little time!

I was getting the pre-trip jitters, but talking to Lester n Cass made it so much better, and I hope things go smoothly! Well. I will update again soon, hopefully before I fly! :)
