Roadtrip!

Alrightey! SO sorry for that long wait for a post..internet at the dorm really sucked the past weeks and then so many things happened before I really had time to put them down in words.

Well so anyways I'm here in Miami now with Larry, and it's been a hellava happening time so far. We started our roadtrip three days after I ended work on 26th July SUnday, after we were done with my termination stuffs, visiting the park for the last few times for me, searching for good internet down at VCU and finally settling down in "THE CAMEL" (which was a liveband pub, damn cool), visiting BMW for his new car stuffs, and also after getting a new kayak and racks for the car so we could secure the two boats on top of his BMW..whew.

And so Wednesday, we hit James River in Richmond after finding our new Kayak, at about 5pm.. so we were happily kayaking down the peaceful stream where there were tons of fat ducks leaving their doodoos around the rocks.. and then we reached the really fast part where the stream started to really have mini waterfalls and current was stronger and there was a bit of whitewater.. and then stupid me decided to take the risk (cos we were barely down the river) and go down those waves cos it looked like fun and i had faith in my rowing abilities to come back upstream..

ah. stupid move. Because my faith was nothing compared to inexperience. Shouldn't have ventured the deep waters because although we saw prettier sights and we were having fun and all, getting back upstream was no joke..I really had no strength to push back up the current and the water was flowing fast and pushing my boat down the bigger waterfalls, and it's no joke cos the falls can juz sink u under and snap ur ribs in half! Plus the huge rocks up and under the river made it tedious cos I kept getting stuck on top of rocks or between them and it just wasted my energy even more.

So Larry was trying another route back up while avoiding the rocks, but water was flowing really fast..and his boat capsized..the older, better boat. WITH MY BAG IN IT! And more than 200USD of cash (because he just banked out some for me) with my cards- ID, intl phonecard, Bank of Am card, Matric card, EZlink(at least 5bucks) and neoprints and more impt stuffs. Worse of all, my camera, and shades and some other stuffs..DAMN SAD!!! I'm still so gek at myself for being an idiot to bring my wallet and camera in e first place.

Sighs. And then we tried to look for it til dusk, and when we gave up it was really almost pitch black. Like. Dark dark. we were guided by the moonlight back to the car, but because we were downstream, we got lost and we had to carry the kayak back and go through another route which had us climbing up and down over gigantic rocks. WHICH SUCKED cos larry had no sandals on (went down the river) and it was F-ing heavy and we still had to balance on rocks to get to the stairway that was in e forest trail to get back to the car.

Some adventure huh. What a first day for our roadtrip! :((

Well that was a huge part of the trip cos we lost lots of money plus the boat which added up to almost 1000USD of assets. :( But I guess God was with us along the way cos at least both of us were okay, pretty much, and I realised i had my camera card switched cos my 8gb was full and i put in a 516mb card which had pics i didn't want already. How Blessed, right? Cos I haven't downloaded ANY of my few thousands of pics so far.. damn heng it's still w me! And my make up I removed from my bag and put in my luggage, so I lost pretty much just cash and camera..which is sad, but still, replaceable.

Ma didnt' give me a hard time about it too. she was so sweet and was like, at least both of us are fine, right? I love u mummy! So happy. :))

And then because of the sunken boat we had to divert our route and we went down to Larry's apartment in Greenville, North Carolina and spent the night on the couches cos his friends were staying in it. That night was simple and awesome. Cos near past midnight the boys were jamming on the keyboard and bass, and it is just pure, unadulterated music, and it was just pleasure watching them jam. They're all from Church and it's like they're all so talented, u know. Larry's best friend D- Demetris, can sing so well toO! and his cousin rocked on the keyboard. And Larry was on the keys and was trying to hit high notes which was so so cute. bwhaaha. Like. airy baby voice. Wish I had my cam to record it.

We were spose to hit Virginia Beach that night. Can u imagine I've been here in VA for 3months but i havent' seen VBeach at all? Damn gek right. But we went down to Myrtle beach though. Spent like 1 night there in a pretty good hotel and then the next night, Friday, we drove down 10hours to hit Miami Beach! Damn shagged for him.

Well we spent a huge part of friday spending time away at this pretty place in Myrtle beach, like a boardwalk with shops and a themepark.. there were lots of ducks and hugeass fish which u could feed with fishfood if u pop quarters in a box every few metres on the wooden handrails.. and then we caught Funny People at about 1130pm so we could spend more time and then hit the road at 12am or so so we could reach Miami in the day on Saturday. I slept half the movie away though. So don't ask me what happened. haha.

okay imma stop here cos it's abit too long and i'm getting a neckache typing on my pillow. bye! update the rest of the 5 days after again soon! :))
