CHUXI: There was the usual trip down to the temple at waterloo street to stick the first incense of the year and to pray for a good year..Sometimes tradition fuddles the mind. We were squashed in a humongous queue in front of the urn, with striped tape all around and people with loudspeakers to keep check. It was super smoky and full of people.. and still rmr ge saying why can't we have smokeless incense like the Japanese and that with the amount of smoke garnered that night, we could have killed the Earth twice..or something. also, he was saying that sadly, this tradition will only end after 50 years..I'm okay with it though..really. I love tradition! It has that authenticky feel and will be the source of many of my nostalgic memories in future..
But i got burnt that night though..while trying to stick my joss stick into the urn..Singaporeans can be so uncourteous. Everyone was just fighting to hit the urn first and get to the temple..i didnt' even manage to stick my joss stick in properly! Saw the whole episode later on tv--the reporter stood right next to the urn and was shouting to the camera..stupid act in my opinion. It was being reported at midnight somemore..when everyone is almost about desperate to be the first to stick the FIRST joss stick into the urn when the clock strikes. As if there aren't already enough people fighting to reach the urn..he just has to block it!! It was kinda scary though. when it hit midnight..like helpers were poised in white gloves to haul the joss sticks out just after they touch the urn.. ew yes, Tradition does fuddle the mind.
THe night before CNY, me n sis stayed up the night so that daD n Mom can live long long!! not fogetting ahMa n Ah Kong too! haaha..i slept at four and her, five. lol sis was saying they can live forever liao..haha okay we were actually pia-ing hana kimi on youtube so maybe not counted eh. hehs.

CHU ONE: We visited the usual places again..oh there was picture taking of the entire fam..kinda one of those things big families like mine do..we set off at 1pm this year..super late compared to the previous years of 8am..maybe its cos we missed the toapayoh uncle's house cos he passed away last yr :( At night Auntie Constance and the Sinma staff came over..won $27 bucks at banluck! haha so happy..
CHU TWO: It was Momma's side this time, and the food at ah kim's house was fabulous as usual..ate alot!! so indulgent. but i lost all day two's winnings here!! :( At night we went over to Lance's house..and Yong Sheng entertained us with beer games..learnt a few new tricks!
CHU THREE: Was firmly set on studying..but ended up kboxing with the cousins..was fun though! but found out that sis actually sings better than me..boo. haha well i juz have to hone my hidden potential! :P At five, 04s41 came over!! i heart 04s41 to bits! It was super successful..17 peeps turned up, including marcus and lance, and so did sis's class! We celebrated Daryl's Dicky's, Ber's and SheE's bdays together, and it was really nice to catch up with everyone! I love the comfortable friendship that exists among the 41 peeps..everyone still had fun even though everyone hasn't seen everyone for sucha long time..haha. well here's some pics~~
